A little bit about me

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, I was nurtured in a world where dedication and hard work shaped every day. My father and mother, unwavering in their commitment, worked tirelessly to provide for our family. In the midst of these responsibilities, my father’s intrinsic artistic talent emerged as a beacon of inspiration. While circumstances did not allow him the privilege of forging a career in art, his passion was undeniable. With his guidance, I was ushered into this artistic realm, and thus began my own creative odyssey. Over four decades, my artwork, which spans painting, sculpture, and photography, has echoed the culture and scenic landscapes of my Texan roots.

Having called Colorado home for the past thirty years, I’ve been blessed with an ever-evolving tapestry of inspiration. The majestic mountains, serene streams, and wildlife, captured abstractly in spirited hues, have naturally found their way into my creations. Yet, Texas, with its captivating beaches, bayfronts, and lively urban vibes, remains an enduring influence, especially during my nostalgic returns.

Many of my artworks spring from on-the-spot sketches, whether set against Colorado’s majestic landscapes or the serene shores of the Texas Gulf Coast. These sketches are more than preliminary drawings to me; they stand as distinct pieces of art on their own. While a significant portion of my original artworks now resides with collectors, I’ve pivoted to offering art prints, allowing a wider audience to delve into my art. My portfolio artfully melds vibrant, abstract takes on western and Native American themes with the diverse wildlife and varied landscapes of both Texas and Colorado. Every piece not only encapsulates a memory or a moment but also radiates my undying affection for color.
